<image:title>Bio - Writing from the soul, NYC-based independent songwriter Sharell Bryant ponders universal insecurities, fears and heartache with vital, pop-leaning originality.</image:title>
<image:caption>Hailing from Philadelphia, the 28-year-old has always looked to music to navigate the unknown, and to process the pressures of trying to be your best self, every day. Detailing the intricacies of first loves, enduring friendships and simply trying to survive in a new city, Bryant embraces everything that’s thrown at her, with ear-worm worthy melodies and warm, rousing vocals. Now, on her debut EP, the songwriter brings together almost a decade of work that offers a poignant reflection of the past, while offering an optimistic lens for the future. For Bryant, this EP is a chance for her to craft the kind of songs that can help others navigate the emotional stressors of their life, and to offer a catharsis or a glimmer of hope. “I always aim to write songs that I wish I had in the moment,” she says. “My songs allow me to put those emotions into the song rather than hold them inside.” The result is an EP that honours the tough, altering moments that made us, while taking a tentative step forward, embracing new relationships, creative collaboration and the unknown. “The reason I love music is because songs have gotten me out of so many emotional and mental hard places in my life,” she adds. “I want to give that back.” Bio written by Sammy Maine for Turn Me into a Diamond Release (2021) Photo by Tonje Thilesen</image:caption>

<image:title>Press - Interview with Adobe & Teardrops</image:title>
<image:caption>“Who are some of your musical influences? Michelle Branch was probably one of the first artists who made me want to write music. I used to listen to her album The Spirit Room every night while going to sleep and memorized basically everything about the songs. After that in my teenage years, I listened to a ton of Regina Spektor and Kimya Dawson on repeat. I would spend hours teaching myself their songs on the piano and guitar and just absorbing their musical and lyrical choices. They all really informed who I am as a songwriter”</image:caption>

<image:title>Press - Review of “Gold” by York Calling</image:title>
<image:caption>Gold has the folk sensibilities and storytelling feel of a Joni Mitchell track. Sharell’s vocals have a similar quality about them too, full of character and just a touch of cynicism. The track’s story unfolds gradually, landing on small details that paint a rich picture.</image:caption>

<image:caption>… Bryant’s voice broadcasts rich warmth, while a minimalistic instrumentation burns slowly into a watershed of strings and harmony. “Gold” is a warm blanket of of sound enriched with seamlessly blended harmonies and a thoughtful sense of poetic unraveling.</image:caption>

<image:caption>New York-based singer-songwriter Sharell Bryant is making big strides with her debut EP, Turn Me Into A Diamond. A set of tracks that vary stylistically, Turn Me Into A Diamond puts Bryant’s range as a musician on display. One of the standout tracks on the new album is “Gold,” which compared to its relatives is much more relaxed in tone.</image:caption>
